ABOUT THE GRAND CANYON SERIES
This series results from the convergence of two habits, the way the glass is made, and outdoor experiences in the Grand Canyon. The first habit is not throwing any scrap away, including the rippled edges of the hand-rolled glass sheets used in my work.experimenting with color combinations. This habit clicked into an idea of how to use them when seeing the layers of the Grand Canyon while floating down the Colorado River. The second habit, listening to jazz while working in the studio, helped bring it all together while figuring out while figuring out color combinations and juxtapositions.
